Essential oils are obtained from flowers and plants by steam distillation or expression. They are all natural and can help replace some of the synthetic products that you use.
According to the World Health Organization, some 80% of the world population relies on plant-derived medicine for their primary health care. In American society, many individuals incorporate plant properties into their lives through the use of essential oils and naturally derived products.
Why choose to put something synthetic on or in your body when there are safer natural alternatives? Derived from renewable resources, plant materials are biodegradable and for the most part nontoxic when used correctly.
Here are some ways you can incorporate essential oils into your everyday life. Most perfumes are made synthetically. If there is an Aveda aroma you like, buy it and splash it on your wrists and neck for a pure smell. If you are having a hard time sleeping, use a couple drops of chamomile on your pillow case at night. The calming smell will help you relax.
